Zone2 Volunteers Needed for VIR DE

DATE: (Thursday) Friday - Sunday, March (15) 16-18 2018

LOCATION: Virginia International Raceway (VIR) - Alton, VA (near Danville)

DETAILS:

  • Help run this very popular DE and make it a continuous success. New and experienced volunteers are welcome!
  • Volunteering is a fun way to meet new people, connect with old friends, and be part of the action.
  • Contact Volunteer Coordinator Rose Ann Novotnak at email Zone2rep@pca.org or phone (570) 427-8052 or (570) 401-3722-cell to sign up or get additional information.
  • Let her know what you would like to do and, if you're driving, which run group you are in. Choose one or more shifts that will suit your schedule. (See below for tasks and time slots)
  • Volunteers get free t-shirts! Please email Zone2rep@pca.org your shirt size no later than Friday, February 15th.

REGISTRATION (North Paddock Classroom):

Thursday, March 15: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

  • Volunteers Needed: 5 per shift
  • Duties: Check people in, make sure that participants have a current driver’s license, have drivers and spectators (adults and minors) sign the appropriate PCA insurance waiver forms, give out wristbands, and answer general questions about the event.

Friday, March 16: 7:00 AM - 7:45 AM

  • Volunteers Needed: 5 per shift
  • Duties: Same as above

TECH INSPECTION (Tech Shed):

Thursday, March 15: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

  • Volunteers Needed: 6 per shift
  • Duties: Inspect cars and collect tech inspection forms.

Thursday, March 16 & 17: 6:45 AM - 7:45 AM

  • Volunteers Needed: 10 per shift
  • Duties: Same as above

STAGING AND PIT OUT (Middle Gate):

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, March 16 - 18: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

  • Volunteers Needed: 4 per shift (morning & afternoon)
  • Duties: Assist with staging cars on the grid and pit out, which will include checking wristbands, helmet straps, other safety equipment, and the car as well as directing drivers onto the grid.
  • Volunteers will cover for each other so that drivers will not miss their run sessions.
  • Shift #1 (Friday & Saturday morning): 8:00 AM – 12:10 PM
  • Shift #2 (Friday & Saturday afternoon): 12:45 PM – 5:30 PM
  • Shift #1 (Sunday morning): 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Shift #2 (Sunday afternoon): 11:35 AM – 5:30 PM

Notes:

  • If you are working Registration or Tech, we will make sure that you have time to get your car teched.
  • If you are working Staging & Pit Out, you will have time off for your run sessions and “comfort” breaks.
  • Please encourage your non-driving spouses and friends to volunteer. They’ll have fun while doing very important jobs.
  • Your help will be very much appreciated!!!
